A fascinating route around the docks beginning at the earliest known dock at Queenhithe and wending a way around what were the largest docks in the world. It was the for better and for worse, the heart of Empire. The docks shaped London’s history. Today, they have been re-imagined as watersport areas, nature parks, even an airport. The riding is almost entirely traffic-free and is a varied and little known route bordering the Thames.
